No, I am not speaking German on my mission but I love German and am striving to work on it.
Me holding my new German Book of Mormon from a wonderful Sister Missionary!
I got to visit the St. George temple this past weekend and talked to some wonderful Sister Missionaries in the Visitor's Center there!
This was said by my German teacher and I love it! When I think of the Gospel, I don't think of it being just my ward partaking of the sacrament each week, I don't think of my bishop being the only bishop; I think of all of the different branches and wards that make up stakes, which in turn make up our wonderful Church: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This church is on so many different continents and hundreds of countries and it just keeps expanding. Just last month, 58 new missions were announced and at the last General Conference on April 6, 2013, they announced 2 new temples, one in Cedar City, Utah, United States, and the other in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil bringing the total number of temples in the world to 171 and 141 of those are currently operating! It is amazing to know that there are so many places and opportunities to serve our brothers and sisters, whether they are living or waiting in the Spirit World.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ has touched my heart in so many ways and I am so grateful for the blessings I have received because of it. In just a few short weeks, I will have the opportunity to partake of the blessings of the temple when I get to go through. "I'm going there someday" has now gotten to "I'm going there in 18 days..." I. Am. So. Excited.
Today also marks the 50 day mark for when I leave for the Provo Missionary Training Center to begin my 18 month mission serving in the Oregon Portland Mission. My heart races every time I think of the fact that I am leaving home for a year and a half straight! "A missionary: Someone who leaves their family for a short while so that others can be with theirs for eternity." This quote is so powerful and true! We, as missionaries, have the gospel and have this great opportunity to share it with others wherever we are served! It is amazing what the gospel can achieve for each of us individually.
I kind of want to go over a few of my friend's mission calls to really see how diverse the gospel is on the earth:

Missionary work is so incredible and I feel blessed to be a part of this generation of girls being able to serve at 19 years old and I look forward to the next few years when missionary work will be flooded even more. The gospel of Jesus Christ is true and will stay forever on the earth. This is the last dispensation of the earth and I am proud to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where I can be a light to the world around me.
